WiFi Vault is designed with privacy as a core principle. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, including our use of notifications for guest network management.
WiFi Vault stores your Wi-Fi data securely only on your device. We do not store or transmit your data to any server. The following information is stored locally:
To scan QR codes for importing WiFi networks.
To detect the currently connected WiFi network (SSID). Required by Android for this functionality.
To save exported backup files and QR images to your device's Downloads folder.
To save QR code images and backup files in a secure, scoped manner on modern Android versions.
To protect access to sensitive actions like exporting or resetting data using fingerprint or face unlock.
To send you local device notifications about guest network expiry. These are local notifications only, not push notifications from external servers.
⚠️ While WiFi Vault uses your device’s biometric features (like fingerprint or face unlock) to protect sensitive actions such as export or reset, we do not access, collect, or store any biometric data. Authentication is handled entirely by your device’s secure system.
All your WiFi network information is stored exclusively on your device using Android's secure local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it — and even then, you have the option to protect it with a password using AES-256 encryption.
🔒 Your data is as secure as your device's lock screen
When you open the QR display screen, the app automatically generates a WiFi QR code. This QR code is stored only in memory and is not saved or transmitted unless you choose to download or share it manually.
We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your WiFi information remains entirely private and local to your device. The only way it can leave the app is through actions you explicitly take — such as sharing a QR code or exporting a backup.
